I used to love it when a civilian would call me “Sarge”. I’d give them a classic Gunny Highway look and correct them on their ignorance. And one of the worst verbal beat downs I ever witnessed was when a Cpl called a Staff Sergeant “Staff”…whoa boy that was a good one…
